It’s Been Awhile!
Posted by Blake
I know it has been a very long time since I updated my website. But I promise today I will update and make some new posts. I don’t really have a reason for why I haven’t updated. But it’s mainly because I have just been trying to relax as much as I can because next year is going to be so hectic! Anyway, I am just at the dentist waiting for my brother, then we are going for lunch; and after that I will be home working on my website!
Thanks for understanding!

Summer is Almost Here!
Posted by Blake
The title says it all! Summer is almost here, and the school year is almost over. I know I haven’t been as up to date on my website as I would like to have been. I have been super busy with school work! I know you are probably thinking that I always say that, but it is just the simple truth. I make sure that my school work comes first, so that I can get all I can out of my education. Right now I have a project that is 186 pages, I checked the Word docuement properties and it says I worked on that file for over 17.5 hours. I am not even done of that project yet.. I still have 2 more sections to do in it, so that’s where most of my time has been lately. Then, I have to read a book and do journal entries on each chapter, and I am at about chapter 20 out of 30. I also have a reseach paper to do, my topic is the “World Wide Web”, I know quite a bit about that subject of course, so that one won’t take too long! I also just finished a brochure project today that is due tomorrow for my Ecology class and the list goes on! Not only do I have projects, but I have 2 tests this week, and then I have my finals coming up in a few weeks.
I just wanted to post this to let you know that when the summer comes, I will be back for good, and have a lot more interesting things on my website. Once school is over, I can just relax and be able to get more things done for my online life, like blog posts, and videos!
Here are some pictures I just took with my iPhone showing you some of my projects:

It’s Finally Here!
Posted by Blake
Spring Break 2010! Now that I am completely done with school for another 9 days, I can relax and get back to what I enjoy doing the most; making videos, and updating my blog! I have been really busy this week! I had 3 English projects due, another book report thing for English, a proposal for an animation I have to do in my Geography class, and I also had a geography test and a chemistry test. I have worked so hard this week, I just need to go somewhere and have some fun.
I am not going anywhere exotic or anything, but I am going away for a couple days to do some shopping and stuff like that. I will be bringing my camera along so when I get back, or when I am bored in my hotel room I will start to edit and get a video out there so you can all see what I did.
So as I was saying, I am leaving today, and going for a few days. I packed my suitcase last night and filmed a little vlog that should be up by the time this post is published so make sure you go ahead and watch that.
Also when I am gone, I will be posting pictures to TwitPic from my iPhone, so be sure to follow me on Twitter, so that you can get all my updates and see my pictures, and if you don’t have twitter, I might just post them on my blog, or my Flickr account.
As for the remainder of my break, I think I am just going to hang out around the house, and make lots of videos, and blog posts and just relax. What are your plans for your Spring Break 2010? Let me know in the comments!
I hope you all have a great Spring Break, and make sure to check back here on my blog for videos from my Spring Break!

Busy… Very Busy!
Posted by Blake
This week is very busy for me so there are not going to be a lot of posts coming out until the weekend. On Monday, I have a writing project due, and a test. On Wednesday, I have another project due where I had to create a website, and do a lot more things, and Friday, I have a book report due, a proposal for a project and a test. So as you can see, this week is going to be full of studying and working on assignments and projects. I am glad that Spring Break is this weekend though because I am going away, but I will make another post about that. I just can’t wait for all this work to be over. I hope that you understand, and please remember to check back on Friday for sure for some new posts.

Happy New Year!
Posted by Blake
Just wanted to write this post to wish you all a very safe and happy new year! I can’t believe it is 2010 already! The years seem to be flying by and as I get older, it seems to go by faster.
This year I want to make a few resolutions to try to see if I can accomplish them all by the end of the year. My first is to simply study more and be even more organized than I already am. All my marks are in the 90%-98% range, and I even have the highest mark in my Computer Science class! The way I usually work is just by doing all my assignments and things and then studying for tests when they come up, but I could be focusing more on those things than being on the computer for the amount of time that I am. As for being organized, I would say I am pretty good at that. I keep all my notes, books, and assignments organized, and I also started this school year, keeping a binder, with all my subjects in it and all the notes I have accumulated typed up so when it comes to finals, I can easily just carry that binder and be able to study all my subjects. I call it my “Exam binder” and I do pretty good at keeping it up to date, but part of the being more organized resolution, I want to be able to update it weekly.
As for my second new year resolution, it would be to save as much money as possible, and to achieve that… stop eating fast food. I really have to stop going out to eat so much. Because I always have money, I just don’t even think about it and I go out and get something to eat. Not only is it draining my money, but probably my health too, and I don’t want that to happen. So this year I am going to try to limit my take out to once or twice a week, when normally it would be 3 or 4 times. I guess it’s just the kind of lifestyle I live, but I have to do something about it.
For my third and final new year resolution, it is going to be to keep up with my Online life. What I mean by that is keeping my blog up to date, making weekly or regular videos and getting to work on my special project that I have neglected for a while now. I am pretty good with updating my blog and website but when it comes to the videos, I don’t get as many out as I would like to. Now that I have a iPhone, I think it will be a lot easier to come up with videos.
All I really need to do this year is be able to manage my time well. I need to set time aside for my school life, home life, and online life. I know that might sound weird to think that someone could have an online life, but what I mean by that is interacting with the technology community and being able to help people through my videos and posts and different things like that. I do get out a lot, but I really would rather be somewhere with my computer than with friends, as long as I have the internet, I couldn’t be more happy. But back to the time management, as long as I schedule in some time for each thing, I should be able to accomplish anything. When it comes down to it, I think time management and organization are two skills important to anyone and can help you succeed at anything you do.
iPhone for Christmas? – Parent FAIL!
Posted by Blake
Like it says in the title, you can expect an iPhone this Christmas for me! I know it’s not Christmas and you are probably wondering why I would possibly know if I got a iPhone or not, so I will just tell you.
It was by far a really big mess up on my parents behalf. The other day I came home for lunch from school with my brother and right before we left, the mail came so I went out and got it. To my suprise, there was a letter from Telus, the cell phone company. But the strange thing is, no one in my family has a telus phone or anything to do with telus. So on the front it said my dads name in big capital letters and it was thick like a bill, and you could tell that’s what it was. So leaving the letter on the step I went out the door without saying anything and went back to school.
On the way to school, my phone rang. It was my mom, she told me that she knew I saw the telus letter and she assured me that it was just information about the company that she requested.
So anyway when I got home, the letter was just openly sitting on our kitchen counter. I went over and on the front of the letter where it shows the little clear screen to show the name on, it said December 19, 2009? Know I was really wondering what was going on. So I took the letter out and it said my dads name but not in all capitals like I saw it straight from the mailbox. I opened the letter and it had the telus logo in the corner, but it was in black ink only… Now what company sends a letter without their logo in color? AND it said something about them wanting us to join their services and it was signed by the president of telus in blue ink. Not from a printer but from a blue pen in my mothers handwriting…. How stupid does she honestly think I am? Then to top it all off, the front and back of the letter was labeled December 18, 2009 but the letter inside said the nineteenth. It was totally a fake.
First of all the front of the letter wasn’t even the same as when I got it from the mailbox, the dates are wrong, and it looks a aweful like my moms handwriting. Anyway just got really bored and wanted to share that with you all. Also I am typing this on my iPod touch so if there is any spelling errors, Im sorry.
Talk to you all soon and I will definetly tell you if I got that iPhone!

iJustine Store Is Here!
Posted by Blake
Today, iJustine launched her online store. Here you can buy all kinds of merchandise, from shirts, and hoodies to buttons and bags, she has it all! She even has babys’ sleepers! All her items are reasonably priced, most are under $20.00 with the exception of hoodies and canvas bags. There is also a sale going on until the 15th of December, you get 20% off on any orders that are over $35.00. I just purchased the man’s black hoodie with “I (L) iJustine” on it, and a 5 pack of iJustine buttons. The man’s hoodie is $32.99 and the 5 pack of buttons are $4.99. With this being over $35.00, and the discount added to it, I saved $7.60, and the two items are now worth $30.38, so I got the sweater cheaper than it really is and I got 5 buttons along with it. The standard shipping to Canada where I live is $6.99 and I think for the US it is around $4.99. My whole order came to $37.37 and Im happy to get this iJustine stuff! I even think when I get it, I will just wrap it and put it under my tree for Christmas and wait to open it then! Below I will post the pictures of the items I bought, and be sure to go to iJustine’s store and get something for yourself too!

First Week of School!
Posted by Blake

It is official, my first week of school is over. I had a great time so far. In this post I will just give a little detail about what happened each day.
So the first day back was Tuesday. That morning I got up and got all ready, got my books and school supplies all packed up in my new school bag and went off to my new high school. When I got there I went right to the cafeteria and sat with some friends I knew. About half an hour later the Principal came up and spoke then the Vice Principal came up and told us all the rules and things like that. After he went over everything, he started calling out names of students to go with certain teachers. So the cafeteria was getting smaller and smaller by the minute and coming on the end I heard my name, but I was waiting for one key thing. They called my name, but didn’t say my middle inital. You are probably thinking… why would they call their middle inital, we they only do if someone has the same first and last name as you, and that applies to me. There is me and one other person that have the same name in the whole school. They didn’t call the inital so we both went with the teacher and then I finally realized that it was the other one that was supposed to be with that teacher so I had to go back to the cafeteria to ask the vice principal for my class. He finally found it and I was on my way.
By the time I got to my class everyone had already been there for ten to fifteen minutes or so. I asked my teacher, who is really my neighbor who lives a couple houses down from me, if I was in this class and he said yes, gave me my schedule and then I knew I could finally relax. The class that I have my neighbor for a teacher is my Computer Studies class. So for the morning after going over a bunch of things we just went on the computers until lunch. After lunch was over, we had a mini day. That is where we go to each class for 30 minutes. So we did that and then I got to go home. My classes for my first semester include; computer studies, environmental studies, algebra and english writing. My second semester of classes include; Geography of Canada, English, Science, and ITC (typing and another computer course).
The week went really well. In my computer studies course we started programming and we have a really big thick book with a bunch of reading we have to do while we write code for programs. My math class is going good, we are currently still working on reviewing a bunch of things to refresh out memories. In my environmental studies class we are taking lots of notes and learning many things about the environment and we are having a guest speaker who is a doctor and marine biologist come in and talk to us about global warming and diet for some reason… And finally in my English writing class, we are doing really boring grammar like sentence structure and parts of speech. Other than the really boring things, I am really liking this school and it is a nice change from my last one. I will be sure to keep you updated on my progress on everything as the school year progresses.
Tomorrow is the Day!
Posted by Blake

So tomorrow is the first day back to school for me. I live in Canada and it’s around this time every year that we go back. I know in the US most kids are already back in school, but tomorrow is the day for me.
This year I am in High School, and in Canada the grades are usually referred to as just numbers not names, but if you are going by name, I am a Sophomore, which is the 10th grade. The way our schools go here where I live is grades 1-6, 7-9, 10-12. So last year I didn’t actually go to a “High School” I was at a “Junior High” school. Luckily this year I am going to be in the same school as my brother who is in the 12th grade, a Senior.
At the High School I am going to there are 2 Semesters. You have 8 classes and they are divided into those two semesters. So you have four classes a semester. With those classes their are three categories, Academic, General, and Practical. Academic is for most students who have higher than a 70% average in their classes, General is for people below 70% in their classes and Practical is for mentally and physically challenged people. Now, you can be Academic for some classes and General for others. But there are a few rules. If you are General in Math, you have to take General Science and things like that. I am in all Academic classes because I had over a 95% average in all my classes. For our classes in High School, you have certain classes you need to take and then you have electives, which are classes you can choose yourself. The amount of electives depends on the classes you need to take. So say if you have to take math all year insted of just half a year, you have one less class to choose yourself. Same thing goes for people in French, and Band.
The classes I had to take were 2 English classes, math, science, and geography. That left me with 3 electives to choose for myself. My first elective that I took is called Environmental Studies, which is just about the environment, weather, ecosystems and things like that. You go on a lot of field trips and are never in the class room so that’s why I chose that, and it was better than taking gym! My next elective I chose was ITC, which stands for Information Technology and Communications. That basically is typing, word processing, desktop publishing, visual presentations, spreadsheet and graphing, operating systems, and Internet and email usage. That is a perfect class for me, being so interested in technology and computers. I should do really good in that class! My last elective is another tech one. It is called Computer Studies and in that there is database management, HTML coding, CSS, and computer literacy as well as programming and manipulation of 3D objects! That is another course that is really great for me.
So tomorrow morning, I go to school and all Sophomores meet in the cafeteria and they tell you all the rules and regulations of the school then tell you your homeroom teacher and then you follow them to your class. Once there, the homeroom teacher goes over the rules and and things further, gives us our schedule and we pay 25 dollars and they give us a student agenda and a lock for our locker. After we go and put our things in our locker we come back and fill out papers and contact information. That takes about the whole morning to get all that done, then we get dismissed for lunch. After lunch is over we take the rest of the afternoon and go to each of our four classes for just 30 minutes. Then we get to go home.
On Wednesday, that is when everything is back to normal and we go to our first class for 73 minutes, then we get a 10 minute break, have another 73 minute class, go to lunch, have another 73 minute class, then a 10 minute break and the last 73 minute class.
I will write another post tomorrow telling you about my whole day and the 4 classes that I got for my first semester. I think that I am going to have a great day, and I can’t wait for a change and to get back to see all of my friends!
