This new 13″ Macbook has a complete new polycarbonate unibody enclosure and only weighs in at 4.7 pounds. It is complete with a built in 7-hour-battery life on one charge! It has a 13-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, and is great for looking at your Photos, videos, games, websites and much more. The glass trackpad has been introduced into this new Macbook. The spacious trackpad gives you plenty of room to navigate and supports two-finger scroll, right-click, and Multi-Touch gestures. This new Macbook has more memory, a larger drive, and all the iLife pre-installed software. The one model for now is available for $999, the most affordable Mac laptop, and has 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB Hard drive, 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, a 8x double layer SuperDrive, and up to 7 hours of battery life. This is truly a great deal, and I am looking forward to see what people have to say about this new and improved White Macbook!
New iMac!
Say goodbye to the old 20″, and 24″ iMac. Today Apple has released the brand new 21.5″ and stunning 27″ iMac. Not only did these computers get a size upgrade, the back of the new iMac’s is a completely seamless aluminum enclosure. It has edge to edge glass that surrounds the LED backlit display. The speakers on these new computers have been completely redesigned to deliver louder, clearer sound with better bass response and less distortion. Another new feature to these iMac computers is that there is now a SD card slot on the slide for easy access to all your digital media. All the new iMac’s come with the new Magic Mouse and an Apple Wireless Keyboard unless you modify your order to the old wired keyboard and mouse. I am actually considering getting one of these for Christmas, I think it is going to be the 21.5″ if I get one, the 27″ is a little out of my price range. The prices start at $1,199 to $1,999. Prices and specs are as follows: Read the rest of this entry
New Mac Mini
Today Apple released a new and improved Mac Mini. For those who don’t know what a Mac Mini is, well it is basically a little computer and you connect it to external monitor and from there you have a full running operating system. The units are starting at $599 and go up to $999. Mac Mini prices and hard drive capacity are as follows:
- 160GB / $599
- 320GB/ $799

All Mac Mini’s now are running Snow Leopard and please note that the prices above do not include the Apple Cinema Display (Monitor).
Courier: Microsofts New Tablet?

The Courier is a real device, and it’s in the “late prototype” stage. It has two 7-inch screens and they are multitouch, and designed for writing, flicking and drawing with a stylus, in addition to fingers. It has a hinge that holds it together with a home button that looks like the iPhones’. Wireless signal and battery life, are displayed along the rim of one of the screens and on the back cover is a camera.
There is not much information on it right now, but I will keep you updated as more things are revealed. For now, you can click here to watch a video of what the Courier can do. It is a must see!
Apple iPod Event

Today Apple held their keynote for their new iPod updates. So basically I am just going to give you a little quick rundown as to what happened.
3.1 OS for iPhone and iPod Touch-
Some new features for this new OS is that it now has Genius. It will make recommendations for applications based on the ones that you already own. Some other features include: Bug fixes, bluetooth voice control, enhanced iTunes support, save video from MMS & Mail, sponsored links in Maps, improved syncing, direct copy of contact info, Anti-Phishing in Safari, paste directly into keypad, new camera APIs and so much more.
iTunes 9-
You can now download iTunes 9 on Apple’s website, free for Mac and Windows computers. Here are some of the new features of iTunes 9: Improved syncing, you can selectively sync different playlists, genres, and artists, or photos from certain albums, events or specific faces. Another big feature in iTunes 9 for the iPhone and iPod touch is App management, where you can now organize and manage apps on the home screen and shows all of your apps, and all of the pages alongside as thumbnails for you to organize and sync. Another new feature is called Home Sharing, where you can copy your music and other things in your library with up from computer to computer up to 5 times. Also iTunes 9 has a great, clean redesigned layout (lot’s of gradients). The last feature I am going to mention for iTunes 9 is something called iTunes LP, this is just basically when you buy an album, it will come with extras, like photos, lyrics, videos and much more.
iPod touch-
There is really no new design or new look to the iPod touch. The only change is a price drop and new 64GB model. The prices start out at $199 for the 8GB model, $299 for the 32GB model, and $399 for the 64GB model.
iPod Classic-
The only change to the iPod classic is a bump up in the size the old 120GB was being sold for $249, now it is being replaced by a 160GB model for the same price of $249. A great deal for a 40GB upgrade.
iPod Shuffle-
The only real update for the iPod Shuffle is the colors. There are 5 brand new colors that include: Green, Pink, Blue, Black, Silver and also a special edition Stainless Steel iPod Shuffle. These shuffles are available in two different models. A 2GB model, and a 4GB model. The price of the 2GB model is $59 and the price of the 4GB model is $79 with the exception of the Stainless steel 4GB model priced at $99.
iPod Nano-
This is the biggest improvement out of all the things that were shown today at the keynote. The greatest feature to this new iPod is a built in camera. It doesn’t allow you to take pictures, but you can record video and sync it back up to your computer to share with everyone. Now I know you are thinking well what good is it to have a video camera with no sound, well in this case, you don’t have to worry about a thing. The new nano also has a built in mic. And to make things a lot better it also has a speaker built in like the iPod touch. It is also equipped with a lager 2.2″ display, polished anodised aluminum, voice over, FM radio, and a built in pedometer. The colors for this iPod are as follows: Red, Pink, Orange, Silver, Black, Purple, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange. This new nano also comes in 2 different models, the 8GB model and 16GB model. The 8GB is priced at $149 and the 16GB is priced at $179.
My thoughts on the whole thing-
I was really disappointed to hear that there was no camera in the iPod touch. I was kind of mad about it at first because I didn’t know why they would even think about putting a camera in a nano because it was so small and just didn’t seem to have the screen for all video functions. I now do realize that they probably can’t put a camera in a iPod touch without hurting their own business. Logically, if you think about it… other than calling and texting, what separates an iPhone from the iPod touch, a camera. If they did put a camera in the iPod touch, they wouldn’t sell as many iPhones because people can’t afford to pay all that money a month for 2 or 3 years for an iPhone plan but they can buy a iPod touch that is pretty much the same as the iPhone without calling features. There have been rumors going around that they are still going to come out with an iPod touch with a camera, but I don’t know what to believe… I don’t want to be disappointed again, so I should just not bother hoping for it when they probably won’t even come out with one. Who knows what Apple will do. By the look of comments on YouTube videos of John4Lakers and SoilderKnowsBest, along with twitter posts, people are not very happy with Apple. Hopefully they can do something to make everybody love them again.
So that was just a little run through of what happened today at Apple’s iPod keynote event. Please leave a comment telling me what you think about what happened today and for more content on everything Apple and technology, be sure to come back to my blog for many more interesting topics and posts.
