iJustine Store Is Here!

Today, iJustine launched her online store. Here you can buy all kinds of merchandise, from shirts, and hoodies to buttons and bags, she has it all! She even has babys’ sleepers! All her items are reasonably priced, most are under $20.00 with the exception of hoodies and canvas bags. There is also a sale going on until the 15th of December, you get 20% off on any orders that are over $35.00. I just purchased the man’s black hoodie with “I (L) iJustine” on it, and a 5 pack of iJustine buttons. The man’s hoodie is $32.99 and the 5 pack of buttons are $4.99. With this being over $35.00, and the discount added to it, I saved $7.60, and the two items are now worth $30.38, so I got the sweater cheaper than it really is and I got 5 buttons along with it. The standard shipping to Canada where I live is $6.99 and I think for the US it is around $4.99. My whole order came to $37.37 and Im happy to get this iJustine stuff! I even think when I get it, I will just wrap it and put it under my tree for Christmas and wait to open it then! Below I will post the pictures of the items I bought, and be sure to go to iJustine’s store and get something for yourself too!

Add Your Facebook Friends Phone Numbers to Your iPhone

When Apple announced the iPhone the importance of the Address Book application increased significantly. Address Book was now not only the tool to keep the various contact details about your friends, family, and work colleagues but was now the way you managed your phonebook on your iPhone.

Over the past few years Facebook.com has emerged as a great way to keep in touch with your friends and family. One of the optional fields in Facebook that your friends can make available to you is their phone number. Now, you can import your Facebook Friends phone numbers to Address Book and then sync them to your iPhone.

Firefox & Greasemonkey

The first thing you need to be able to import your Facebook phone numbers to Address Book is the Firefox Web browser and a plugin called Greasemonkey.

Head over to the Firefox website and download the web browser if you don’t already have it installed on your computer.

After you’ve installed Firefox you need to install the Greasemonkey plugin. This plugin will allow you to utilize a free application to gather all the Facebook phone numbers from our account.

Navigate to the Greasemonkey plugin page and click the add to firefox button.

After Greasemonkey is installed the application will ask to restart Firefox. Restart the browser and navigate to the Greasemonkey script page that you will utilize to get your Facebook friends phone numbers and import them into Address Book. Click install to add the script to your Greasemonkey collection.

Now that you’ve added Firefox, Greasemonkey, and the Greasemonkey script to get Facebook phone numbers, head over to http://www.facebook.com/friends/. Login to Facebook if you’re not already logged in and click on the Phonebook button.

Once the page has loaded, in Firefox click Tools >> Greasemonkey >> User Scrip Commands… >> Export Facebook Phonebook.

The application that will export the data may require you to login with a Google Account but will then transfer you to a page where it will allow you export your friend’s phone numbers into Address Book.

Adding to Address Book

Once you’ve ran the Greasemonkey script to export Facebook Phone numbers and have found yourself on the AddressBooker menu, select Export as vCard. In the popup window that appears, select Open with Address Book and then press Ok.

Address Book should then launch and ask you to confirm that you’d like add the contacts to Address book. Allow Address book to import the new vCard details and then merge the contact details on any overlapping imported contacts.

Once sync’d, Address Book on your desktop and iPhone will now contain the name and phone numbers of your friends who have shared their number on Facebook.

Maybe Getting an iPhone 3GS

iphone-3g As most of you know I live in Canada, and here we do not have many cell phone providers, at least for the iPhone. Where I live, we don’t have a ATT, or TMobile, or anything like that. Canadians providers consist of 4 ones. Bell, Rogers, Telus, Fido. As you know, for the iPhone, it is on a 3G network and uses SIM cards like any other GSM network’s phone does. In Canada, out of the 4 main providers, only 2 are GSM networks, Rogers and Fido. So those were the only ones that carried iPhones. My provider is Bell, which is a CDMA network and doesn’t allow you to use handsets from anywhere and use SIM cards. But recently, at the beginning of November, Bell and Telus, both CDMA networks released the iPhone 3G and 3GS. This really surprised me!

Back in July, I bought a new phone, the LG Voyager and signed it for a 3 year contract. But now that my provider has iPhones, I really want to get one! What I would need to do is terminate my existing contract so I don’t have to pay for my old one and the new iPhone one. To terminate a contract on the Bell network, you have to pay $20 for every month you have left on your contract with a minimum of $100 and a maximum of $400. So I would need to pay the maximum of $400 because I still have my contract for about 33 more months. I know, it is a really big rip off. But for the iPhone, I would pay anything.

At Bell, the 16GB White iPhone is $199.95 and my plan would be $45 a month for the basic calling, data plan and everything, plus another 15 for Unlimited texting, because if I didn’t have unlimited texting, the bill would be insane! So once I terminate the contract, and buy the iPhone, and pay the $35 activation fee, it’s a little more than $630. I suggested to my parents to get me that for Christmas, because they didn’t really want to spend all my Christmas money on a iMac that I wanted, but my Mom would freak out if she knew she had to pay $400 to terminate my contract, right now she thinks it’s a couple hundred, not 4!

I do have another way to get this without my parents paying for it for Christmas and then I could also get an iMac. Last week my brother won $932 on a lottery ticket. All you have to do is pick wins, losses, or ties for 6 games of Football and for a 4 dollar wager you make about $1000. He is really good at it and usually gets it right, so this week, im going to get him to get me 5 different tickets so I have a better chance of winning something. If I happen to win that, then I could pay for the iPhone and everything next week and get an iMac for Christmas. So I am really hoping that it is going to work out that way. And if it doesn’t, my parents always get me what I want, so by Christmas I will have an iPhone!

New Macbook!

Picture 2This new 13″ Macbook has a complete new polycarbonate unibody enclosure and only weighs in at 4.7 pounds. It is complete with a built in 7-hour-battery life on one charge! It has a 13-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, and is great for looking at your Photos, videos, games, websites and much more. The glass trackpad has been introduced into this new Macbook. The spacious trackpad gives you plenty of room to navigate and supports two-finger scroll, right-click, and Multi-Touch gestures. This new Macbook has more memory, a larger drive, and all the iLife pre-installed software. The one model for now is available for $999, the most affordable Mac laptop, and has 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB Hard drive, 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, a 8x double layer SuperDrive, and up to 7 hours of battery life. This is truly a great deal, and I am looking forward to see what people have to say about this new and improved White Macbook!

New iMac!

Picture 1

Say goodbye to the old 20″, and 24″ iMac. Today Apple has released the brand new 21.5″ and stunning 27″ iMac. Not only did these computers get a size upgrade, the back of the new iMac’s is a completely seamless aluminum enclosure. It has edge to edge glass that surrounds the LED backlit display. The speakers on these new computers have been completely redesigned to deliver louder, clearer sound with better bass response and less distortion. Another new feature to these iMac computers is that there is now a SD card slot on the slide for easy access to all your digital media. All the new iMac’s come with the new Magic Mouse and an Apple Wireless Keyboard unless you modify your order to the old wired keyboard and mouse. I am actually considering getting one of these for Christmas, I think it is going to be the 21.5″ if I get one, the 27″ is a little out of my price range. The prices start at $1,199 to $1,999. Prices and specs are as follows: (more…)

Apple’s New “Magic Mouse”

Picture 5Today Apple also released a brand new mouse, from the previous Mighty Mouse, to the new Magic Mouse. This mouse is an amazing invention. Using the same technologies that are in the iPhone, iPod touch, and Macbook Pro trackpads, this mouse is completely operated using gestures.

Here is a little excerpt right from Apple: “The Multi-Touch area covers the top surface of Magic Mouse, and the mouse itself is the button. Scroll in any direction with one finger, swipe through web pages and photos with two, and click and double-click anywhere. Inside Magic Mouse is a chip that tells it exactly what you want to do. Which means Magic Mouse won’t confuse a scroll with a swipe. It even knows when you’re just resting your hand on it.”

The new Magic mouse uses laser tracking to give you a better response no matter what surface it is on, even without a mouse pad. It is a Bluetooth device which can be paired with any bluetooth enabled macintosh computer. It comes standard on all new iMac computers but for those who just want it for their Macbook or just to have a spare, it will cost you a price of $69, which in my opinion is a great deal for this technologically advanced mouse.

System Requirements

  • Bluetooth-enabled Mac computer
  • Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0
  • Existing keyboard and mouse for setup
